Layton and Wesley’s Mom makes this classic Canadian dish and it is a big hit around here. Spread it on toast with mustard for breakfast or on cute little toasts for an appetizer.
1/3 cup of Water
1 packet Gelatin
1 lb. Ground Pork
1/2 cup of Onion, chopped
2 Tablespoons of Celery Leaves, chopped
1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon of Ground Ginger
1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of Nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoons of Ground Cloves
1/2 cup of Water
1 1/2 teaspoons of Salt
1 teaspoon of Black Pepper
Mix the 1/3 cup of water with the gelatin packet and put aside. Mix the next 11 ingredients in a medium size saute pan. Cook on medium to medium high heat, stirring frequently, until pork is cooked thoroughly, about 20 minutes.
Transfer all to a blender and puree. Pour into a small casserole dish, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
